The 69传媒 congratulates alumna Alysha Corrigan, a former 69传媒Women鈥檚 Rugby student-athlete, who has been named to Team Canada鈥檚 Women鈥檚 Rugby Sevens team that will compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The 27-year-old Charlottetown native is the only player east of Ontario to be named to the Olympic team. 

In follow up to two recent campus town halls, President Rodgers sent a message to the 69传媒community outlining the themes that emerged from the events.

Ten 69传媒students learned about the distinctions and commonalities among Indigenous peoples worldwide by comparing their language and knowledge with that of the M膩ori people during the Maymester course, 鈥淕lobal Indigenous Language and Cultural Ways of Knowing,鈥� which took place at 69传媒and in New Zealand from May 6 to June 13.

UPEI鈥檚 Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is establishing a new fellowship program for incoming and existing graduate students in research thesis-based graduate programs.

Representatives of UPEI鈥檚 Island Studies program recently exchanged ideas, expertise, and research with delegates attending islands-related conferences in Ireland and Indonesia.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at 69传媒is proud to announce that Dr. Darcy Shaw, professor emeritus, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, is the recipient of the prestigious Distinguished Member Award awarded by the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). 

The Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative (CWHC), Atlantic Region at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC), 69传媒 (UPEI), is working with the Government of Prince Edward Island鈥檚 (PEI) Fish and Wildlife Division to help monitor one of our elusive resident bat species: the Northern Myotis. 

While Pride Month is celebrated in June in many areas of Canada, Pride is recognized on PEI and at 69传媒in July as part of the national summer-long 鈥淧ride season.鈥� Pride PEI鈥攁 not-for-profit organization that celebrates and promotes inclusion and diversity and educates and advocates on behalf of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community鈥攐rganizes the , which this year runs from July 12鈥�21.

The 69传媒 is proud to announce that Shannon Gillis-Atkins will be the first Panther rugby representative to be inducted into the 69传媒Sports Hall of Fame. This prestigious honour recognizes Gillis-Atkins for her outstanding contributions to the sport during her time from 1992鈥�2015.

The Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) at the 69传媒 (UPEI) will welcome future veterinarians for the next month at the 2024 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp.
